An ADR/HazChem Driver Training Certificate is required for any drivers who drives a vehicle used for transporting dangerous goods by road in the EU.  The ADR/HazChem training course covers the regulations and safety procedures relating to the carriage of dangerous goods by road in packages, IBCs, Bulk and Tanks.

Swilly Group is one of a small number of Training Providers in Ireland approved by the Health and Safety Authority (HSA) to provide ADR/HazChem Driver Training in Ireland.

ADR Initial Basic (Packages) Course
Drivers transporting dangerous goods in packages, drums or IBCs in vans, curtain-siders trucks, box vans or freight containers are required to attend a 3-day Initial Basic (Packages) course and pass the HSA Initial Basic exam.

ADR Tanker Specialisation Course
Drivers transporting hazardous substances in tank carrying vehicles (e.g. road tankers, tank containers, demountable tanks etc.) are required to attend the 3-day Initial Basic course and an additional 2-day Tanker Specialisation course and pass the HSA Initial Basic exam and the Tanker Specialisation exam.

ADR Basic (Packages) Refresher Course
The ADR drivers training certificate is valid for 5 years. To extend the Basic (Packages) certificate, a driver is required to attend a Basic (Packages) Refresher course and pass the HSA Basic exam in the last 12 months of the certificate (i.e. in Year 5).

ADR Tanker Refresher Course
The ADR drivers training certificate is valid for 5 years. To extend the Tanker certificate, a driver is required to attend a Basic (Packages) and Tanker Refresher courses and pass the HSA Basic and Tanker exams in the last 12 months of the certificate (i.e. in Year 5).
