Swilly Group launch Car/Jeep and Trailer Pre-test Packages
Swilly Group this week launched two new Car/Jeep and trailer pre-test driver training packages. Stephen Sweeney director at Swilly Group said, “we have seen an increasing demand for pre-test driving tuition in licence category EB (Car/Jeep and Trailer) over the last 6-12 months”. “We have redesigned our pre-test driver training courses for the Car/Jeep and Trailer and now have two attractive pre-test packages available at competitive rates”.
Car/Jeep and Trailer Pre-Test Driving Packages
Stephen Sweeney explained, “The car licence (B category) covers mostly small single axle trailers with a maximum allowable mass of 750kg”. “This would include small trailers suitable for private or domestic use e.g. transporting garden or household equipment, materials and tools”.
Stephen continued, “We have seen a noticeable increase in the number of drivers sitting the Car/Jeep and Trailer driving test in order to obtain the EB licence”. “The EB licence is needed for larger trailers being towed by SUVs, Vans, Jeeps or large cars. “These larger trailers are primarily used for commercial purposes across a number of different industries”. “For example, drivers working in the construction industry towing trailers with building supplies or plant machinery (e.g. a mini digger) would need an EB licence” , said Stephen. “Farmers transporting cattle and sheep in two and three axle trailers also come into this category”. “We have also seen drivers going on family holidays who need the EB licence for towing large caravans”. “Drivers in the show jumping or horse racing industries involved in towing Horse boxes or drivers working for outdoor activity companies transporting, Boats, Kayaks and Canoes are likely to need an EB licence also”.
Stephen warned, “Drivers should be aware if they are driving on a public road and do not have the correct licence for towing a trailer, they are driving illegally and unlikely to be covered by insurance. If they are involved in an accident, this could present a lot of problems for the driver”.
Swilly Group is now offering two pre-test driving packages for the Car/Jeep and Trailer (licence category EB). The BASIC package includes 7 hours of driving tuition and the use of the Swilly Group training vehicle and trailer for the driving test. The INTERMEDIATE package offers learners 11 hours of driving tuition and the use of the Swilly Group training vehicle and trailer for the driving test. Fully qualified RSA Approved Driving Instructors (ADIs) help drivers through all stages of licence acquisition process.
